Thank you for taking a look at our February Newsletter!

We have a number of exciting program developments, as well as some training and workshop opportunities coming up in the next few months.

We also just completed our Winter Basic Mediation Training and proudly graduated twelve new up and coming mediators!  Its always encouraging and refreshing to see eager new mediators who are passionate about our mission and vision for a more peaceful Lane County.

Here are some updates from last month!

Manufactured & Marina Communities Mediation

CDR has seen a dramatic increase in cases coming in from Manufactured Communities around the County.  We've received twice the number of cases, in the last two months alone, than we had come all last year!   With funding from Oregon Housing & Community Services, we're able to offer mediation services to Manufactured and Marina communities for no charge.

We're happy to see increases in our ability to help folks in these communities resolve their disputes.  If you're interested in volunteering to help mediate these cases, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Divorce 101 and Divorce Mediation

We've been very pleased with the turnout for our Divorce 101 workshops, which take place the first Saturday of every month.  These workshops cover the basics of the divorce process, from mediation and legal aspects, to mental health and well-being.  If you know someone considering or in the midst of the divorce process, please spread the word!  The workshops are affordable and extremely helpful as couples consider separation.

Prisoner re-entry mediation

In partnership with the National Association for Community Mediation and the JAMS Foundation, CDR is developing a program for prisoners' re-entry and re-integration into their lives and society.  This program will focus on mediation services for recently released individuals to address conflicts related to employment, housing, education, and domestic relations.  Watch for update emails on this program and our progress!
